Actress Jeon Wonju, known to have assets in the 4 billion-won range, drew attention by revealing her investment philosophy.

Jeon Wonju appeared as a guest on a video posted on February 20 on comedian and film director Shim Hyungrae's YouTube channel "Younggu TV." She said, "My children are already eyeing my assets. I have two sons, and they keep asking me for my personal seal," drawing laughter.

Jeon Wonju is known in the entertainment industry as a master of personal finance who has steadily grown her wealth while continuing her acting career. She is reported to currently hold around 3 billion won in stocks and about 1 billion won in gold, and she also owns real estate assets such as a building in Sinchon, Seoul, and an apartment in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu. Her total assets are said to exceed 4 billion won.

Her most notable investment success case is SK Hynix. Jeon Wonju previously appeared on KakaoTV's "Gaemineun Oneuldo Ttundun 3," where she revealed that she is "a long-term investor who has held SK Hynix shares for more than 10 years." The reported purchase period is early 2011, when she bought the shares at a price in the 20,000-won range per share. Considering that as of February 20, 2026, SK Hynix's share price stood at 949,000 won, this translates into a simple gain of more than 4,000%.

Explaining the background of her investment decision, Jeon said, "I was giving a personal finance lecture at SK Hynix in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, and had a meal with the employees. I observed the facial expressions of everyone from the chairperson to the lowest-ranking staff as if I were reading a financial statement, and the company looked solid." She went on to stress, "You should invest after looking at the company, and you must not sell too quickly."

She also said, "You should not invest with money you will miss or money you need to use urgently. You have to invest with money that you can leave untouched for a long time," adding, "Once I buy, I absolutely do not sell for 5 to 6 years and just hold." In doing so, she revealed her principle of long-term investment.

Alongside stocks, Jeon Wonju has also continued to buy gold. On a broadcast, she once said, "I have about 1 billion won just in gold," and added, "Whenever I get money, I buy gold without hesitation."

Meanwhile, in the video that day she also revealed a change in her perception of spending, saying, "In the past I only saved, but now I feel that I should spend for myself. I will no longer be the trembling Jeon Wonju, but Jeon Wonju who spends freely."
