Pocheon-si Resolves Long-Standing Wish of Idong and Ildong Residents
Metropolitan Bus Route Between Dopyeong-ri and Byeolnae Station to Begin Operation on March 4
Pocheon-si in Gyeonggi Province announced on February 20 that it will officially begin operating Route 3700 (Dopyeong-ri-Byeolnae Station), a new Gyeonggi Province metropolitan public bus line, starting March 4.

Route 3700 was newly established to improve downtown travel convenience for residents in the Idong, Ildong, Hwahyeon, and Naechon areas, where access to metropolitan public transportation has been relatively low, and to strengthen connections with the Seoul metropolitan area’s wide-area transportation network. As these areas have had difficulty using direct routes to major hubs in Seoul and the greater metropolitan region, the opening of this route is expected to provide substantial help in improving local transportation conditions.
With the launch of the route, accessibility to major hubs in Seoul and the greater metropolitan area will be enhanced, which is expected to improve everyday travel convenience for commuting to work and school. In particular, by connecting to Byeolnae Station, access to the rail network will be expanded, further broadening citizens’ options for using public transportation.
The opening ceremony will be held on March 3 in the parking lot of Dongbu Church in Ildong-myeon, and will include a progress report on the route project, congratulatory remarks, and a trial ride event. On that day, the city plans to provide residents with detailed information on the background of the new route and its operating plan.

An official from Pocheon-si said, "Route 3700 will be a turning point in practically guaranteeing mobility rights for residents in transportation-disadvantaged areas," adding, "We will continue to work to close transportation gaps between regions and to steadily expand the metropolitan transportation network that is directly connected to residents’ daily lives."
