Lee Haein and Shin Jia Both Top 200 Points Overall to Close Out Their Olympic Campaign
Figure skater Lee Haein recorded her season’s best score in the free program, following her season’s best in the short program. Unlike her disappointing short program, Shin Jia achieved a personal best in the free program and earned a satisfying result. Both Lee Haein and Shin Jia scored over 200 points in the combined short and free totals, wrapping up their schedules at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics.
On the 20th (Korean time), Lee Haein scored 74.15 points in Technical Element Score (TES) and 66.34 points in Program Component Score (PCS), for a total of 140.49 points in the women’s singles free program at the figure skating competition of the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, held at the ice skating arena in Milan, Italy. This was the first time this season that Lee received a free program score in the 140-point range, raising her previous season’s best by more than 6 points. Adding the 70.07 points she earned in the short program on the 18th, her total score came to 210.56 points.

Lee Haein completed all seven jump elements without any noticeable mistakes and achieved a satisfying result in the free program.
She cleanly executed her opening double Axel-triple toe loop combination jump to earn positive grades of execution, and then successfully landed the subsequent triple Lutz-double toe loop-double loop three-jump combination without errors. After landing a triple Salchow and a triple loop, Lee maintained her smooth performance by earning a Level 4 on her flying camel spin. She then stably executed a triple Lutz, followed by a triple flip, double Axel, and sequence jump. Only on her final jump element, the triple flip, did she receive a score below the base value. Lee finished her program by earning Level 4 on the flying change-foot combination spin, the step sequence, and the change-foot combination spin.
Shin Jia wobbled on the landing of her triple flip jump and appeared unsteady, but she successfully completed her other jump elements and, for the first time, scored more than 140 points in a free program.

Skating fifth in the second group, Shin Jia earned 75.05 points in Technical Element Score (TES) and 65.97 points in Program Component Score (PCS), for a total of 141.02 points. Adding the 65.66 points she received in the short program on the 18th, her overall total came to 206.68 points.
Shin opened with a successful double Axel and earned bonus points. She then cleanly landed the triple Lutz-triple toe loop combination jump, on which she had suffered a heavy deduction after a fall on her backside in the short program. She also picked up more than 1 point of positive grade of execution on the following triple Salchow, but on the ensuing triple flip she landed unsteadily, wobbled, and failed to fully earn the base value.
She then stably completed the remaining three jump elements. She successfully executed a triple flip-double toe loop-double loop three-jump combination, followed by a triple flip-double Axel sequence jump, and finished her jumping passes with a triple Lutz. Although Shin received only Level 2 on her flying camel spin, she closed out her program by earning Level 4 on both her step sequence and her flying change-foot combination spin.
After scoring more than 140 points for the first time in a free program, Shin Jia was visibly delighted.
With 18 skaters in the first three groups having finished their performances, Lee Haein stood in third place and Shin Jia in fifth place.
