Interview with Baibeoseu Founder and CEO Shin Jaein
"Just as the Pentagon joined forces with U.S. artificial intelligence (AI) data analytics company Palantir to successfully carry out multiple operations, we also need a Palantir-like presence. I hope many Korean brands can build a foundation for growth through AI."
On February 22, Shin Jaein, CEO of Baibeoseu (photo), said in an interview with The Asia Business Daily that his goal is to become a Palantir for K-brands. He expressed his ambition to help Korean companies that own competitive brands succeed through Baibeoseu's AI Transformation (AX) solutions.
Baibeoseu is a company that provides AX solutions enabling client companies to apply AI across their overall work. Through its AX solution, "Maestro," it helps companies apply AI to their overall work to automate tasks or improve efficiency. At present, it supports clients' AX mainly in distribution sectors such as fashion and shopping.
CEO Shin Jaein, who founded Baibeoseu, has the unusual background of being an engineer who also ran a fashion brand. After working as an engineer at Toss, he resigned and operated a fashion brand for about one year. He then founded Baibeoseu, which is now in its second year. Shin explained, "The pace of AI innovation has grown rapidly, and I came to believe that AI could handle many tasks in place of people," adding, "I decided to start this company because I wanted to act as a primer that connects the power of AI to retail and distribution."
The strength of Maestro is that it can learn each brand and provide customized services for each client company. Maestro learns the context of brand operations, including past sales performance and promotional campaigns. Because it understands and operates across the entire scope of work, it can provide answers based on historical records and can also respond to complex questions.
There are now cases of clients achieving tangible results after adopting Maestro. One client introduced Maestro for content marketing and, in just about one month, achieved its three-month pageview target. Another client in the commerce sector automated its product detail pages while renewing its own online shopping mall, and in doing so reduced the time required to meet its renewal goal by more than one-third.
Baibeoseu also plans to add new features to Maestro for marketing and inventory management. Shin said, "We are updating the system so that influencer marketing, content marketing, and performance marketing, which we are currently adding, can be managed together on a single screen," and added, "We will also update it so that it links different data sets, such as inventory and marketing, to enable demand forecasting."
Shin also expressed his ambition to expand into global markets. He said, "I want to create opportunities to provide services globally based on our know-how built in Korea," stressing, "Through Maestro, our brand OS, I hope to become a Palantir for brands."
