Jangseong-gun plans to equip its artificial intelligence-based CCTV with voice-analysis functionality after being selected in a Public Procurement Service competition. Provided by Jangseong-gun.
Jangseong-gun announced on the 19th that it has been selected for the "Innovative Product Pilot Purchase Program" organized by the Public Procurement Service.
The "Innovative Product Pilot Purchase Program" is a project in which the Public Procurement Service directly purchases innovative products and provides them on a trial basis to the institutions selected through the competition. Having been selected for this program, Jangseong-gun plans to introduce an artificial intelligence (AI)-based intelligent abnormal sound analysis system to its integrated control center. In effect, it has secured national funding worth 62.5 million won.
The intelligent abnormal sound analysis system uses artificial intelligence technology to analyze various hazardous sounds in real time. The system automatically recognizes sounds that may indicate emergencies, such as loud shouting, disaster or accident rescue requests, and collision or horn sounds, and then the linked integrated control center cameras immediately point to the source of the sound and alert the control staff.
Until now, Jangseong-gun had used artificial intelligence only for video analysis. Since 2022, the county has been operating about 1,800 "intelligent CCTV" cameras installed throughout the area. The artificial intelligence displays what is detected in the video on the screen, helping control staff respond appropriately to the situation.
If the intelligent abnormal sound analysis system is additionally introduced on a pilot basis at busy intersections or around schools frequented by children, the artificial intelligence will be able to analyze video and audio simultaneously, thereby enabling the establishment of a much denser safety network.
Jangseong County Mayor Kim Han-jong emphasized that "protecting the lives and safety of residents is the top priority of county administration," and added, "We will continue to boldly and swiftly adopt advanced technologies and take the lead in creating an environment where everyone can live with peace of mind."
