"Fortune's Wanderer" Anthony Kim Jumps from World No. 847 to No. 203

Korean-American golfer Anthony Kim (United States), who claimed a victory for the first time in 16 years, has leaped to 203rd in the world rankings.


In the men’s golf world rankings announced on the 16th (local time), he earned 0.69 points to climb a staggering 644 spots from 847th last week to 203rd. He accumulated points by winning the LIV Golf Adelaide event (total prize money of 30 million dollars), which concluded on the 15th in Adelaide, Australia. It was his first win in 15 years and 10 months since the PGA Tour Houston Open in April 2010.

Anthony Kim, who had three career wins on the PGA Tour, ended his playing career after the 2012 season and then returned to competition in 2024 through LIV Golf. Born in 1985, he effectively retired in his late twenties, at the prime of his career, and has now returned to the course just shy of 40. His career-high world ranking is 6th, achieved in 2008.


Scottie Scheffler (United States), Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland), Tommy Fleetwood, and Justin Rose (both England) occupy the top four spots. Collin Morikawa (United States), who won last week’s PGA Tour AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (total prize money of 20 million dollars), jumped from 19th to 5th. Among Korean players, Kim Siwoo is 26th, Im Sungjae 68th, An Byeonghun 110th, Kim Joohyung 118th, and Kim Sunghyun 149th.
