Raising a 6-month-old daughter with his wife, 52 years his junior
Taking on "parenting in his nineties" with the stamina of a marathon finisher
The story of a man in his nineties who had his seventh child in France has been reported by local media.
According to a report by the French daily Le Parisien on the 13th (local time), 91-year-old Pierre Sable is spending his days caring for his 6-month-old daughter together with his 39-year-old wife Aisha. The daughter who was born this time is Sable's seventh child, and his eldest daughter is reportedly already in her sixties. All of his children were born to different mothers.
The couple's relationship began four years ago at a ski resort and led to their registering their marriage in 2023. Aisha said there had been no small amount of concern from those around her. In particular, her family worried about the large age gap between the two, but she explained that their doubts were dispelled after they met her husband in person.
The couple has been attracting considerable attention both online and in their local community. Aisha said, "I understand that people are concerned about the father's age," but expressed displeasure at some speculation that she chose marriage and childbirth for financial reasons. She stressed, "Every choice was made out of love."
Sable has likewise made it clear that he is not overly concerned about what others think. He said, "If there is love, age is not a problem." He is reportedly actively involved in childcare, taking charge of nighttime feedings and diaper changes.
Commentators say that Sable's decision to have another child at such an advanced age was made possible by his consistent self-care. He is well known in the local community as a sports enthusiast. He completed the New York Marathon for the first time at the age of 79. Since then, he has shown his vigor by taking part in major international races such as the Paris Marathon, the Rome Marathon, and the Los Angeles Marathon. More recently, he is said to have been maintaining his fitness by enjoying trail running.
