President Lee Jaemyung said on the 13th, "The 'Korea Task Force', which was launched under an agreement with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, has achieved a meaningful outcome by arresting more than 130 suspects involved in online scam crimes in just two months since it began its activities."


After stating this on Facebook the same day, President Lee added, "This was made possible thanks to the strong determination of the Cambodian government and the dedication of the police forces of both countries. I would like to thank everyone who worked so hard." He also conveyed to Prime Minister Hun Manet, "Once again, I express my deep gratitude."


President Lee went on to say, "I heard that the Embassy of the Republic of Korea prepared tteokguk to encourage the Korea Task Force," and added, "I hope it brought warm comfort to those who are doing their utmost to protect the safety of our people in a faraway land even during the Lunar New Year holiday."


He continued, "The government plans to continue to work in even closer coordination and cooperation with Cambodia to eradicate transnational crimes. I look forward to a safe and peaceful future that the two governments and our peoples will build together."
