The tentatively named Seokgeumsan Middle School, which is a middle school, will have its official name decided by the Yangsan Office of Education, the competent local office, after collecting opinions on its own.

Therefore, any resident of the province who wishes to take part in naming the tentatively named Seokgeumsan Middle School can download the application form from the notices section on the Yangsan Office of Education website, fill it out, and submit it.

The Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education will directly oversee the naming contest procedures for Sinhang High School, Jangpyeong High School, and Jinhae Naraeul School, which are high schools and a special-education school.

The naming contest for these three schools will run for 15 days from February 12 to February 26, and anyone wishing to participate can download the application form posted in the notices section on the provincial office of education website, complete it, and submit it.

The school name contest is open not only to members of schools, institutions, and local governments within the province, but to all residents of the province.

A small prize will be awarded to those whose name proposals are ultimately selected.

Based on the candidate names received, the provincial office of education plans to conduct a preference survey sometime in March.

Once the survey results are available, the office plans to convene the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial School Naming Deliberation Committee to review them, then complete the necessary administrative procedures, such as revising the relevant ordinances, and finalize the school names around July 2026.

Choi Jiyong, head of the School Support Division, said, "We hope for active participation from the education community and provincial residents so that names can be created that reflect both the characteristics of each school and the history of the region, and that everyone can relate to."
