A Total Project Budget of 418 Million Won投入
On February 13, Jeongeup City announced that it will fully implement the "Eight Major Dairy Farming Support Projects," with a total project budget of 418 million won, to stabilize the income of local dairy farmers and secure industrial competitiveness.
The projects have been prepared to provide practical assistance to dairy farmers who are struggling due to rising feed prices and an aging population, and to create a hygienic and eco-friendly environment for milk production.
First, Jeongeup City will carry out projects to support dairy cow semen, teat dip for milking cows, and detergents for milking facilities in order to improve superior breeds and enhance hygiene management. Through this, dairy farmers will be able to improve reproduction efficiency while also establishing a foundation to supply safer and cleaner milk to consumers.
The city will also strengthen tangible support to help stabilize farm management. Under the dairy helper support project, professional workers are dispatched to farms where a labor gap has arisen due to illness, accidents, or family events, thereby filling milking gaps. In addition, through the dairy equipment support project, devices such as cow headlocks will be supplied, significantly improving work convenience and efficiency.
Measures have also been included to ease the burden on farmers stemming from stricter environmental regulations. By supporting the establishment of an eco-friendly milk production base and the installation of purification facilities for milking wash water, the city will help farmers discharge wash water safely in line with strengthened water quality standards and foster a sustainable livestock environment.
Mayor Lee Haksoo of Jeongeup said, "I hope this support project will improve the structure of the dairy industry in Jeongeup and serve as a stepping stone for farmers to focus on livestock farming without worries," adding, "Jeongeup City will continue to spare no effort in providing citizens with healthy food and helping dairy farmers generate stable income."
