Introduction of LS ELECTRIC energy management system and solar power facilities
Annual savings of 1.5 billion won in electricity costs and reduction in carbon emissions
Ace Bed is creating an eco-friendly smart workplace in cooperation with energy specialist company LS ELECTRIC.
Ace Bed announced on the 13th that it has introduced LS ELECTRIC's Factory Energy Management System (FEMS) at its factories in Eumseong, North Chungcheong Province, and Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, and has installed solar power generation facilities with a capacity of 5,940 kWh.
This is the first such initiative in the domestic bed industry and is part of a strategic move to strengthen sustainable management. Ace Bed plans to advance its energy management system across the entire production process to promote implementation of the global RE100 initiative and respond to the climate crisis.
FEMS is a core energy management system for implementing smart factories. It analyzes and controls energy consumption at production plants in real time to reduce energy waste and improve the efficiency of using renewable energy. In particular, when applied to manufacturing environments where the proportion of power usage is high, it can be expected to achieve both energy savings and cost efficiency, while enabling systematic monitoring of energy usage patterns.
The newly installed solar power facilities are among the largest in the industry and are expected to generate approximately 7.62 GWh of renewable energy annually. The energy conversion rate is projected to reach about 60%. The company expects to save approximately 1.5 billion won per year in electricity costs and reduce carbon emissions by 3,617 tons annually. Through this, it will establish an eco-friendly production environment that meets global ESG management standards.
An Ace Bed official said, "This eco-friendly smart workplace is a customized system built by comprehensively considering the characteristics of the power grid and our financial conditions," adding, "Just as we have provided the best rest through high-quality beds, we will continue to practice responsible management for a sustainable future."
