On Thursday the 12th, the weather nationwide is forecast to be mostly clear, with mild conditions during the daytime.
However, due to residual fine dust from the previous day and domestically generated fine dust accumulating under stagnant air conditions, fine dust concentrations will be high, mainly in the central region.
On the 25th, downtown Seoul appeared hazy as fine dust and yellow dust combined across the country, resulting in poor air quality.
Morning low temperatures are forecast to range from -7 to 2 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs from 7 to 13 degrees Celsius.
Fine dust levels in the Seoul metropolitan area, inland Gangwon to the west of the Taebaek Mountains, the Chungcheong region, North Jeolla, and Daegu and North Gyeongsang are expected to be "bad," while other regions will be "normal." Gwangju and South Jeolla, and Busan, Ulsan, and South Gyeongsang will temporarily see "bad" levels in the morning.
Thick fog is expected in many parts of the central region, the Jeolla region, and inland areas of the Gyeongsang region, so drivers should take extra care. A dry weather advisory is in effect for the east coast and mountainous areas of Gangwon and for the Gyeongsang region, and the air will be very dry, so there is a heightened risk of fire.
Wave heights at sea are expected to be 0.5 to 1.5 meters off the east coast and 0.5 to 1.0 meters off the west and south coasts. In the inner offshore waters (the offshore area within about 200 km from the coastline), wave heights are expected to be 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the South Sea.
