Councilor Jung Jaejung Delivers 5-Minute Speech
The Gimcheon City Council in North Gyeongsang Province closed the 257th extraordinary session on the 11th after concluding the 9th plenary session.
This extraordinary session, which began on January 28, held a total of nine plenary meetings, during which the council received reports from the executive branch on the progress of major work plans for 2025, reviewed project outcomes, and proposed improvement measures. The council also carried out substantive legislative activities by visiting major project sites such as the embankment along the Gamcheon Stream to directly check the progress on the ground.
On the final day, during the 9th plenary session, Councilor Jung Jaejung delivered a 5-minute speech on the need to improve systems for supporting and honoring volunteer activities. This was followed by the final review and approval of a total of four agenda items, including the “Partial Amendment to the Gimcheon City Urban Planning Ordinance” proposed by Councilor Lee Myeonggi, thereby concluding the schedule.
Chairman Na Youngmin said, “I would like to thank all the council members, officials of the executive branch, and employees of the Facilities Management Corporation for their cooperation, which allowed the first extraordinary session of the new year to be concluded smoothly,” adding, “I ask the executive branch to make active efforts so that the opinions presented by the council members in this report on the progress of major work plans for 2025 will lead to concrete policy implementation and enable citizens to feel the changes in administration.”
