KNS Gains Momentum in Supplying 46-Phi Components to U.S. EV Company via Affiliate

KNS announced on February 11 that its affiliate Jongrui Korea has passed the first quality test for core components of 46-phi (4680) batteries destined for the largest electric vehicle company in North America.

The 4680 battery is a form factor that is emerging as the next-generation mainstream in the cylindrical battery segment, and a U.S.-based global electric vehicle company is currently leading this market. As a result, Korean and Chinese battery companies are also accelerating the development and launch of 4680 batteries, and the related market is expanding rapidly.

Jongrui Korea expects its performance growth to strengthen further once full-scale product supply begins. Since the 4680 form factor is increasingly likely to be used not only in electric vehicles but also in large-scale energy storage systems such as ESS and in the humanoid sector, the company is also anticipating an expansion in future order volumes. If it succeeds in obtaining final quality approval, it is expected to have a positive impact on KNS's fundamentals as well.

A KNS official said, "Passing this first quality test is an important event that can simultaneously drive a quantum leap in the affiliate's performance and maximize profitability," adding, "Because the benefits can extend along the value chain to our company, this is a meaningful achievement for both companies."
