Over 10,000 New Apartments... Unique Move-in Items Unveiled at Gwangju Shinsegae At the Arke store on the 8th floor of the Gwangju Shinsegae main building, a staff member is adding carbonation while explaining how to use it to a customer. Provided by Gwangju Shinsegae.

Gwangju Shinsegae Co., Ltd. is presenting a variety of move-in items for customers preparing to move into new apartments. As customer expectations rise, demand is expected to continue not only for essential home appliances such as washing machines and refrigerators, but also for lifestyle products that did not previously exist in the market.

According to KB Real Estate, the number of households scheduled to move into new apartments in Gwangju Metropolitan City in 2026 is projected to reach 11,656, which would be the largest volume in the past 10 years. With new apartment move-ins increasing in this way, Gwangju Shinsegae is responding quickly by showcasing a wide range of move-in items.

As interest in health grows, a new type of product is emerging as a move-in essential: the Carbonate 3 sparkling water maker from the Swedish kitchenware brand Arke. The Carbonate 3, available at the Arke store on the 8th floor of the main building of Gwangju Shinsegae, is popular among customers who want to cut down on sugar for health reasons and are looking to replace conventional soft drinks.

Once the carbonation cylinder is refilled, it can be used semi-permanently, and because it does not require any electrical components, it can be used not only at home but also for outdoor activities such as camping. At the Arke store in Gwangju Shinsegae, customers can directly taste sparkling water made with the Arke sparkling water maker, so people who want to try it out continue to visit.

On the 8th floor of the main building, DJI is showcasing the flagship robot vacuum cleaner DJI ROMO, developed with the technological expertise of a drone specialist company. DJI ROMO uses a LiDAR sensor that can detect objects as thin as a card. Thanks to its excellent obstacle-detection capabilities, it can be used conveniently without the hassle of having to clear away items in advance. In particular, drawing on the company’s know-how in drone production, it identifies the optimal path to clean the entire home efficiently.

On the same floor, the product that is attracting the attention of customers about to move in at the Balmuda store is The Plate Pro. The Plate Pro, introduced by Balmuda, is a premium electric griddle designed to let users enjoy the taste and experience of professional teppan-style cooking at home.

With excellent thermal conductivity and precise temperature control, it helps bring out the natural flavors of ingredients. In particular, it uses a triple-layer plate with a thickness of 6.6 mm, which is thicker than those of other brands, delivering outstanding heat retention. It not only enhances the joy of cooking, but also elevates kitchen interiors with its sophisticated design, making it a focus of interest among customers preparing to move in.

At Lumena, known for its popular minimal design, diffusers are recommended. The Lumena wireless aroma diffuser catches the eye with a design that serves as a focal point in any space. A single 10 ml bottle of essential oil for the Lumena wireless aroma diffuser can last for up to 70 days, allowing users to enjoy fragrance in a relaxed and stable way. In addition, its ambient light function adds a visual sensibility to the scent, making it a great choice as a housewarming gift.

Kwon Hyukwon, head of the Living Team at Gwangju Shinsegae, said, "As the number of new move-ins scheduled for this year is the largest in the past 10 years, we have prepared a wide range of products needed when moving in," adding, "Since products such as sparkling water makers and Balmuda diffusers can only be fully appreciated through hands-on experience, we hope you will visit Gwangju Shinsegae in person and explore the various move-in items we offer."
