Cheongdo County (Governor Kim Hasu) has launched on-site administrative activities ahead of the Lunar New Year holidays to revitalize traditional markets and promote key county policy issues.
On the 11th, the county held a "Lunar New Year Traditional Market Shopping Event" at Donggok Market in Geumcheon-myeon, with the participation of about 100 officials from related agencies and civic groups in the jurisdiction.

This event, which followed a similar one at Cheongdo Traditional Market on the 9th, was organized to encourage merchants struggling due to the economic downturn and to inject vitality into the local commercial district.
On this day, participants wore sashes reading "Do Your Holiday Shopping at Traditional Markets" and added energy to the market by purchasing ritual food items and daily necessities using Onnuri Gift Certificates and Cheongdo Love Gift Certificates.
In particular, alongside the shopping event, the county carried out a large-scale public awareness campaign in and around the market to promote Cheongdo Love Address Registration, proper disposal of recyclable waste, and a ban on illegal burning and wildfire prevention.

The aim was to inform visitors to the traditional market for the holidays about the county's key priority projects and to raise awareness of the risk of wildfires in the dry weather.
Heads of institutions and organizations, and village heads from nearby Unmun-myeon and Maejeon-myeon, as well as from Geumcheon-myeon, participated in large numbers to lend their support.
Park Sunghyun, head of Unmun-myeon, and Kim Byungjun, village head of Ojin-ri, said, "It is meaningful that we can share the warm spirit of the traditional market while also taking part in campaigns for regional development," adding, "We hope many residents will take an interest in using traditional markets and in the development of county governance."
Cheongdo County Governor Kim Hasu stated, "I hope this event will provide at least a small boost to merchants who are going through a difficult time due to the expansion of large retail chains," and added, "Going forward, we will continue our efforts not only to revitalize traditional markets but also to promote address registration, environmental protection, and other initiatives to make Cheongdo a better place to live."
