Lee Junseok and Jeon Hangil to Hold Public Debate on "Election Fraud" on the 25th
As a debate on election fraud between Lee Junseok, leader of the Reform New Party, and YouTuber Jeon Hangil, a far-right commentator and former Korean history lecturer, has been arranged, Jeon expressed confidence, saying he would "expose what Lee is really made of." Lee countered by saying, "Stay out of jail and safe until the debate."

The public debate on election fraud began with a far-right YouTuber. This YouTuber proposed an open debate to Lee, who has been criticizing election-fraud conspiracy theorists, and Lee broadened the front by saying, "Please encourage election-fraud conspiracy theorists to take part." As a result, the proposal reached Jeon, who has been claiming that there was election fraud in past general and presidential elections.
Jeon Hangil: "I will confront Lee Junseok with honesty, and I am confident I can win"
On February 8, through his YouTube channel "Jeon Hangil News," Jeon announced that an open debate with Lee had been scheduled for February 25 in a 1-to-4 format. He stressed, "I acknowledge that Lee Junseok is good at speaking, slipping by with clever excuses and absurd arguments, but I will confront him with honesty. I am confident I can win." He added, "The truth is powerful. I will lay everything bare from the very bottom."
Lee Junseok: "This debate will shatter the election-fraud theory"
In response, on February 9, during YTN Radio's "Kim Youngsoo's The Interview," Lee said, "I understand that Jeon is contacting three people from academia and elsewhere to accompany him, but he will probably have difficulty finding them," adding, "Since there are quite a few people who believe in election fraud, he will bring along some of them."
When the host asked, "Jeon told you to put your National Assembly seat on the line," Lee replied, "Jeon claimed that I was elected in Dongtan through election fraud, and I immediately filed a complaint," and added, "If Jeon can prove in the police investigation that Lee Junseok was elected through election fraud, then Lee Junseok will be stripped of his parliamentary seat."
Regarding the criticism that holding a public debate with an election-fraud theorist might actually highlight election fraud, Lee said, "These people are even denying the Supreme Court rulings, so there was no choice but to let the public see just how absurd their claims are," and added, "With this debate, I will crush the election-fraud theory."
He then mentioned Jeon, who is scheduled to appear before the police for questioning on February 12 on charges including defamation, and said, "If he is detained, he will not be able to participate in the debate, so I hope he will exercise his right to defense aggressively with excellent lawyers and remain safe at least until the debate on the 25th."
