On the 8th (local time), at the Livigno Snowpark in Italy, he recorded a combined time of 1 minute 26.74 seconds over his first and second runs in the men's snowboard parallel giant slalom qualifying, finishing sixth and advancing to the finals, where 16 riders compete.

Forty-five-year-old veteran Roland Fischnaller of Italy, the world No. 1, advanced to the finals with the fastest overall time of 1 minute 25.13 seconds. Fischnaller is the dominant rider this season, having claimed three victories in the International Ski Federation (FIS) World Cup.
