To celebrate the Lunar New Year, Damyang-gun in Jeonnam, known as the "Hometown of Bamboo," will open its major tourist attractions free of charge for returning visitors and tourists coming back to their hometown.

According to Damyang-gun in Jeonnam on February 6, the county will offer free admission on February 17, the day of Lunar New Year, to four of its signature tourist destinations: Juknokwon, Metasequoia Land, Soswaewon, and Gamagol Ecological Park.

This free opening has been arranged to give visitors coming to Damyang for the Byeongo Year New Year a happy and enjoyable holiday memory.

Juknokwon, which will be open free of charge, is a landmark of Damyang where visitors can stroll along eight themed bamboo forest trails and enjoy a bamboo forest bath. It also offers a variety of experiences, including traditional Hanok stays and footbath experiences.

Metasequoia Land features a beautiful tree-lined road, an Eco Hub Center, the Honam Climate Change Experience Center, Frog Ecological Park, and a children's Provence area, making it ideal for family tourists. Visitors can also enjoy a recently popular barefoot walking trail.

In addition, Soswaewon, regarded as one of the finest examples of Joseon-era garden architecture, offers tranquil natural beauty, while Gamagol Ecological Park allows visitors to take in the scenic valleys and striking rock formations.

To welcome guests, the county is thoroughly inspecting the environment and facilities at major tourist attractions and checking the hygiene management status of local food vendors and hospitality businesses, striving to minimize any inconvenience for visitors.

Damyang County Governor Jeong Cheolwon said, "I hope that everyone who visits Damyang during the Lunar New Year holiday will stay safe and comfortable and fully experience the charm of Damyang."
