Cube Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as "Cube Entertainment") announced on the 6th that the group (G)I-DLE took first place on a music show with their first group comeback of the year.
(G)I-DLE (Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua) won the first-place trophy for the first week of February on Mnet's "M Countdown," which aired on the 5th, with their digital single "Mono (Feat. skaiwater)."
After receiving the award, (G)I-DLE expressed their thoughts in Korean, as well as in Chinese and Thai, saying, "We did not expect this, but we received this award thanks to Neverver (the name of our fandom). We are truly grateful. We are happy to be able to receive this award. We will not take this for granted and will work even harder as (G)I-DLE."
On this day, (G)I-DLE appeared on stage in white crop tops and jeans, drawing attention with their monotone visual concept. In particular, even while performing voguing choreography together with dancers of diverse genders and nationalities, they showcased unwavering live vocals that led on-site fans to sing along in unison. During the first-place encore stage, they held the trophy in one hand, looked at each other joyfully, and once again impressed with a stable live performance reminiscent of the main stage.
Released on January 27, "Mono (Feat. skaiwater)" is a song that delivers, in (G)I-DLE's own musical language, a message encouraging listeners to focus on their essence, a unique identity that cannot be defined by any rules or modifiers. Immediately after its release, it entered the upper ranks of major domestic and international music charts, sparking a heated response and signaling a pleasant start to the year for (G)I-DLE.
In addition, the mega-crew video released following the "Mono (Feat. skaiwater)" music video climbed into the upper ranks of YouTube's "Most viewed videos in the past 24 hours," entering the charts in four countries, including Russia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Germany, thereby proving the group's steadily rising global popularity.
(G)I-DLE is scheduled to appear on KBS2's "Music Bank" on the 6th to continue the second week of their "Mono (Feat. skaiwater)" promotions.
