An assorted sundae platter priced at 16,000 won and sold at a well-known franchise store has become a hot topic online because of its composition.

On February 3, a post titled "This Is Sundae XXX Assorted Sundae" was uploaded to an online community.

The photo uploaded by the tipster showed 7 pieces of glutinous sundae, 6 pieces of vegetable sundae, 2 pieces of makchang sundae, and about 5 pieces of assorted offal. The price was 16,000 won. It did not look significantly different from the official promotional photo posted by the company.

The tipster said, "I bought it from a franchise sundae restaurant that recently opened. I could accept it if it at least tasted good, but the sundae was cold and I feel like I wasted my money," adding, "I hope others will not suffer the same loss."

Ordered a 32,000 won set... Staff still said it was the 'standard portion'

A photo posted by another netizen, who said they had ordered two servings, also drew a big reaction. They ordered two 16,000 won sundae platters, that is, 32,000 won worth for two servings as described in the product details, but the quantity and composition were similar to a single serving.

The tipster lamented, "This is the 32,000 won two-serving platter after eating one piece of makchang sundae. I repeatedly checked with the owner and the staff, but they all said it was indeed for two servings."

Netizens who came across the story reacted in various ways. Some commented, "There isn't enough evidence like a receipt," and "Isn't this something a competitor fabricated on purpose?" while others wrote, "This is worse than Gwangjang Market," and "This is about the level of what you get for free as a side dish when you order a sundae set meal."
