Changwon-style Education Development Special Zone Holds Meeting of Specialized High Schools, Universities, Local Government, and Industrial Institutions

On February 5, Changwon Special City in South Gyeongsang Province held the "Changwon-style Education Development Special Zone 2nd-Year Performance Review and Cooperation Strengthening Meeting".


The meeting was attended by officials from six specialized high schools and five universities in the jurisdiction, as well as representatives from Changwon City, the Changwon Industry Promotion Agency, and other related organizations.

The participants reviewed the progress and achievements of the second year of the Education Development Special Zone and focused on discussing the division of roles by institution and cooperation measures to ensure stable implementation of the third-year projects this year.


In particular, they exchanged substantive opinions mainly on: the outcomes of operating joint curricula linking specialized high schools and universities; directions for improving educational content that reflects on-site demand; ways to expand industry-linked talent cultivation models; and plans to establish a regular cooperation system among institutions.


The Changwon-style Education Development Special Zone is a region-led education innovation model that aims to cultivate customized talent in connection with local industries, with specialized high schools, universities, local governments, and industrial institutions all participating together.


Based on the second-year performance review, Changwon City plans in the third year in 2026 to strengthen the substance of its cooperation structure and focus on spreading the outcomes of the projects.


Through this meeting, Changwon City intends to go beyond simply sharing results, by clarifying the roles of participating institutions and building an organic cooperation system, thereby firmly establishing a sustainable foundation for nurturing local talent.


Jeong Soon-gil, Director General of the Autonomous Administration Bureau, said, "The Education Development Special Zone is more than just an education project; it is a core strategy that connects local industries with future talent," adding, "We will create results that citizens can truly feel through a cooperation system that actively reflects voices from the field."
