41 Fewer Than Initially Planned... Women Account for 64.8% of Successful Candidates
The Jeollanam-do Office of Education announced on the 5th, through its website, that 509 candidates have finally passed the "2026 School Year Public Secondary School Teacher (including special education, health, librarian, professional counseling, and nutrition teachers) Appointment Candidate Selection Competitive Examination."
The provincial office of education confirmed the final successful candidates through a rigorous process that began with the first written examination on November 22 last year, followed by the second practical evaluation, teaching demonstration, and in-depth interview on teaching aptitude, which continued until January 21 this year.
The initial number of candidates to be selected in this examination was a total of 550 (508 in the general category and 42 in the disability category). However, because some subjects had applicants who failed to meet the minimum passing score in the first examination, because the number of applicants for the second examination was below the quota, and because some applicants with disabilities were absent, the actual number of successful candidates came to 509 (504 in the general category and 5 in the disability category).
By gender, 330 were women and 179 were men, showing a higher proportion of successful female candidates. Individual scores for each applicant can be checked for eight days from the 5th to the 12th through the Jeollanam-do Office of Education NAEIS online staff recruitment system.
Final successful candidates must submit their registration documents either by visiting the provincial office of education or by mail from the 9th to the 13th. Job training for new appointees is scheduled to be conducted in both online and in-person formats from the 6th to the 13th.
