Gumi City Puts Community Care 'Parenting Paradise' into Practice on the Ground

Emergency and Extended Care Continues During Lunar New Year Centered on K-Bodeum 6000
Dense Caregiving Network Built with 20 Community Care Centers and 9 K-Bodeum 6000 Centers

By hosting a large-scale sports day for children using the Gumi City Community Care Centers and their families, and by continuing nonstop caregiving services even during the Lunar New Year holiday, Gumi City is demonstrating in the field its practice as a 'Parenting Paradise' city.

On February 7, the city will hold the "Run Together! Have Fun! Kick It! Spring Spring Spring Sports Day" at the Gumi Multipurpose Sports Center, with about 900 participants including children using the 20 Community Care Centers and their families. This event has been prepared to support the healthy growth of children through play and physical activities, and to promote communication within families and the value of community-based caregiving.

The sports day will begin with warm-up exercises and consist of a total of eight events: ▲Avoid the Wave ▲Roll the Earth ▲Fly, Super Board ▲Ball Pit Basketball ▲Color Board Flipping ▲Dad and Mom Strategic Tug-of-War ▲Mission Running ▲Building a Balloon Tower with Grandpa and Grandma. Programs where different generations can enjoy activities together and a variety of prizes are also prepared to enhance participant satisfaction.

Gumi City is also maintaining the highest level of caregiving infrastructure operations in North Gyeongsang Province. It currently operates 20 Community Care Centers, the largest number in the province, and among them, 9 centers have been designated as "K-Bodeum 6000," which provide caregiving services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, thereby establishing a year-round, non-stop system. By building a caregiving network within a 10-minute distance by region, the city is minimizing caregiving gaps for dual-income families and families facing emergencies.

* K-Bodeum 6000 is an abbreviation that advocates a 'Parenting Paradise', embodying the meaning of protecting and supporting children 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

In particular, focusing on excellent full-time caregiving teachers, the city has expanded community participation by engaging volunteers, local universities, senior clubs, volunteer fire brigades, and community watch groups, thereby creating a safe and highly reliable caregiving environment.

Caregiving will not stop even during the Lunar New Year holiday period. Except for the holiday itself, the city will strengthen emergency, temporary, and extended caregiving services, and will also offer holiday-special programs such as Yutnori and top spinning, along with eco-friendly fruit, tteokguk (rice cake soup), and other special holiday meals. Households wishing to use the care centers during the holiday period should apply in advance at a Community Care Center near their residence that is designated as a "K-Bodeum 6000".

Gumi Mayor Kim Jangho said, "We will continue to put into practice on the ground a caregiving environment where children and families can feel at ease, and maintain a seamless caregiving system in both daily life and during holidays," adding, "We hope that this dense caregiving network will lead to the healthy growth of our children."
