"Survival format makes full edits impossible, as they break the flow"
Hidden from promotional materials...thoroughly excluded in marketing
Disney+ announced on the 4th that it has decided to air comedian Park Narae's portions without any editing in the original variety show "Game of Destiny 49," which will be released on the 11th.
The production team's decision to go unedited stems from a structural inevitability. Because of the survival format in which forty-nine cast members are intricately intertwined and interact like a spider web, forcibly cutting out a specific individual could cause the narrative of the program itself to collapse. It is presumed that Park Narae serves not just as a simple panelist but as one of the pillars shaping the overall flow, making her physical removal impossible.
Park Narae halted all activities at the end of last year due to allegations of "power abuse against her manager" and "illegal medical procedures." The production team was hit by this bad news when filming had already been completed and post-production was in full swing. Since completely editing her out or covering her with mosaics would directly lead to a decline in content quality, they ultimately chose the desperate measure of a "no-edit release."
Instead, they have moved into risk management through thoroughly erasing Park Narae from promotional marketing. In the teaser, posters, and still cuts released that day, there is no trace of Park Narae in any of the official promotional materials. This stands in contrast to how other panelists such as Jun Hyunmoo and Park Hasun are pushed to the forefront. It appears to be a so-called "two-track" strategy: preserving the completeness of the main episodes while excluding her from visible promotions to minimize negative public opinion.
