A single bold remark at the event leads to a 5?6 month internship
Interviewed and accepted just a month after handing Macron her resume
A university student who directly asked the President of France for an internship at a public event has seen her bold move turn into a real opportunity. On the 3rd, Yonhap News, citing the French daily Le Parisien, reported that a female student enrolled at Sciences Po (Paris Institute of Political Studies) recently received a notice that she could do a 5- to 6-month internship at the Elys?e Palace, the office of the French president.

At the end of October last year, this student met President Emmanuel Macron in person at a Peace Forum held in Paris and bravely expressed her intentions by telling him, "I am looking for an internship." She promoted herself by explaining that she had gained experience working on presidential-related affairs at the French Chamber of Commerce during President Macron's visit to Morocco in 2024.
In response, President Macron smiled and asked, "Do you have a resume?" and the student handed over the documents she had prepared in advance. When the president said, "You are very well prepared," she replied, "I have thought of everything." The scene spread through social media (SNS) at the time and drew major attention. About a month later, the student actually had an interview, and she was recently informed that she could do an internship with the Elys?e Palace's economic team. She said she "is currently just waiting for the contract" and could not hide her joy.
The student said, "I come from a remote rural area and grew up in a family with financial difficulties, so the Elys?e Palace was never an obvious career option for me in the first place," adding, "This opportunity has a very symbolic meaning for me." However, she also made it clear that she does not want her case to lead to indiscriminate imitation. She said, "I never imagined this video would become such a big topic," and jokingly expressed concern, "I hope we will not see people grabbing the president every time he moves around, rushing at him with resumes in their hands."
