On February 3, independent research firm Aris projected that T-Robotics will grow into a global leading company through its advanced strategy that connects autonomous mobile robots (AMR) with humanoids.
Jaemo Lee, a researcher at Aris, stated, "T-Robotics is the only domestic company specializing in vacuum robots, supplying vacuum robots and vacuum transfer systems to global semiconductor and display equipment partners. Its main businesses include vacuum robots, vacuum transfer modules, and AMRs." He added, "T-Robotics was the first in Korea to develop and supply vacuum robots, successfully localizing the technology."
He continued, "AMRs are being used as logistics automation solutions for smart factories, automatically transporting raw materials, components, and semi-finished products on semiconductor, display, and secondary battery production lines. AMRs are designed to autonomously recognize and change routes without external infrastructure, providing logistics automation solutions optimized for customer processes based on robot mobility control technology, control software, and industry-specific customized design capabilities."
Since 2023, T-Robotics has fostered AMR as its next-generation core growth engine. The company supplied 600 AMRs to BlueOval SK in the United States and completed the setup of 300 units last month. This has established a global reference for the largest AMR operation at a single plant.
Building on the successful commercialization of AMRs, T-Robotics is also pursuing an advanced strategy by integrating complex robot technologies such as humanoids into its physical artificial intelligence (AI) business. The company secured the original technology for robotic hands, a core technology for humanoids, in 2008 and has also registered related patents.
Researcher Lee forecasted, "A proprietary humanoid, immediately applicable in industrial settings, will be released in March," and added, "The company will evolve into an intelligent robot platform provider by expanding into the logistics robot, humanoid robot, and medical robot markets."
The company will also acquire about a 90% stake in AI Robotics through its subsidiary, Motion Device. Researcher Lee evaluated, "AI Robotics specializes in stockers, robot automation systems, and smart factories. The synergy with T-Robotics' existing robot business is expected to enhance order competitiveness and broaden the scope of applications."
