54 International Students Participate in Open-Format Education Breaking Down Major Barriers
All Sessions Conducted in English, Hands-On Coaching from Industry Professionals

Dongseo University (President Jang Jeguk) RISE Project Group has concluded its 'Global Startup Camp' for international students.

This camp was organized as part of the RISE Project to help international students understand the Korean startup ecosystem and design their own business models. It was conducted as an open-format educational program that lowered language and major-related barriers, allowing students from diverse backgrounds to participate.

A total of 54 international students from various departments, including the International College and graduate school, took part in the camp, and all sessions were conducted in English. Regardless of their Korean language proficiency, all participants were able to engage equally in discussions and presentations, which enhanced their immersion in the learning process.

Current professionals from the global startup networking company 'The Garrison' participated in the training process, providing practical, hands-on education. The participants were divided into 10 teams and experienced every stage of the startup process step by step, including idea validation interviews, market and competitor analysis, business model development, and IR pitching presentations.

One student who took part in the camp said, "There have not been many specialized startup programs for international students, but through this camp, I was able to envision the possibilities of starting a business in Korea in concrete terms. I was also impressed by the opportunity to collaborate with students from different majors."

Hwang Kihyun, Head of the RISE Project Group at Dongseo University, stated, "This camp is an example that demonstrates the direction of the RISE Project, which aims to foster global talent and promote local settlement. We will expand customized extracurricular programs for international students so that the achievements of the RISE Project can benefit the local community."
