[Asset Disclosure] Assets of 10 National Police Agency Officials Revealed... Former University President Oh Moonkyo Reports 3.4 Billion Won

Assets of 362 High-Ranking Officials with Status Changes Disclosed
Average Assets of 10 National Police Agency Officials: 1.338 Billion Won

The Government Public Officials Ethics Committee on January 30 disclosed the assets of 362 high-ranking public officials, including 10 affiliated with the National Police Agency, whose status changed due to appointment, promotion, or retirement between July 2 and November 1 of last year.


The average assets of the 10 senior police officials whose information was made public amounted to approximately 1.338 billion won.

The largest amount of assets was reported by Oh Moonkyo, former President of the Korean National Police University, who retired in September of last year. He declared assets totaling 3.44785 billion won. He owns real estate worth 1.50325 billion won, including an apartment pre-sale right in Dongjak-gu, Seoul under his name, a jeonse right for an apartment in Jangan-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, and a mixed-use building in Jangan-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi Province under his spouse's name.


Additionally, he reported securities worth about 240.1 million won held by himself and his family, including 450 preferred shares of Samsung Electronics under his spouse's name, as well as virtual assets such as Dogecoin and Bitcoin worth 786.31 million won under his spouse's name.


Among current officials, Kim Jongcheol, Commissioner of the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency, who was appointed in September of last year, reported the highest amount of assets. He declared 1.74885 billion won, including a jeonse right for an apartment in Songpa-gu, Seoul under his name and deposits worth about 800 million won.


Other disclosures include Kim Wontae, Director of the Security Intelligence Bureau at the National Police Agency, who reported 830.97 million won, including a townhouse in Jongno-gu, Seoul under his name and an apartment in Jung-gu, Incheon jointly owned with his spouse. Kwak Byungwoo, spokesperson for the National Police Agency, reported 1.27046 billion won, including an apartment in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul under his name and deposits. Hong Seokki, Director of the Investigation Bureau at the National Office of Investigation, disclosed assets totaling 15.37 million won, including an apartment in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province under his spouse's name, after accounting for liabilities.


Choi Bohyun, Deputy Chief of Investigation at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, reported 432.19 million won, including a multiplex house in Songpa-gu, Seoul under his name and a townhouse in Yeondong, Jeju City. Kim Younggeun, Commissioner of the Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency, reported 949.54 million won, including an apartment in Nam-gu, Gwangju. Lee Jongwon, Commissioner of the North Chungcheong Provincial Police Agency, reported 838.14 million won, including a multi-family house in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province jointly owned with his spouse.


Kim Suhwan, former Commissioner of the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency, who retired in September of last year, disclosed assets totaling 1.51166 billion won, including an apartment in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul jointly owned with his spouse and deposits. Kim Dohyung, former Commissioner of the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency, who left public office during the same period, reported 2.33133 billion won, including an apartment in Songpa-gu, Seoul under his name and a commercial property in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province.
