On the afternoon of the same day, Han held a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Office, saying, "Fellow party members, citizens. We are the true owners of the People Power Party and the conservative movement. Let us never give up." Earlier, the People Power Party's Supreme Council had finalized the Central Ethics Committee's decision to expel Han over allegations of manipulating public opinion on the party's online bulletin board.

Prior to Han's press conference, 16 incumbent lawmakers affiliated with the pro-Han (pro-Han Donghoon) faction also held a separate press conference to protest the expulsion decision. They stated, "The decision to expel former leader Han is a serious act of betrayal and can never be accepted," and added, "Jang Donghyuk and the party leadership, who have driven the party in an anti-constitutional and undemocratic direction for personal gain, must take responsibility for this situation and step down immediately."
