Employee Dies at LS Mtron Research Center... Police and Labor Authorities Investigate

Autopsy and Forensic Analysis Underway
Investigating Possible Violations of Occupational Safety and Health Act and Serious Accidents Punishment Act

A fatal accident occurred at the LS Mtron research center, a subsidiary of LS Group, resulting in the death of an employee and prompting a police investigation.

According to the Serious Accident Investigation Team of the Gyeonggi Southern Provincial Police Agency on January 28, an employee identified as A was found collapsed at the LS Mtron research center in Gwonseon-gu, Suwon, on January 20. A was transported to the hospital but was pronounced dead. A was a researcher working on tractor-related technology and was reportedly working alone at the time of the incident.

It was confirmed that there were no CCTV cameras installed at the accident site inside the research building. The police have requested an autopsy from the National Forensic Service and are also investigating the possibility of external factors contributing to the accident through on-site forensics.

A police official stated, "It is difficult to determine the cause of death as the autopsy results and forensic reports have not yet been released," adding, "Once the cause of death is confirmed, we will conduct further investigations in accordance with relevant regulations."

The labor authorities are also investigating potential violations of the Occupational Safety and Health Act and the Serious Accidents Punishment Act.
