"SpaceX Considering June IPO...May Align with Musk's Birthday"

There are expectations that Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, will take SpaceX public through an initial public offering (IPO) in June. It is reported that the IPO will coincide with his birthday and a rare planetary alignment in the solar system.

On January 28, the Financial Times (FT) of the United Kingdom, citing sources familiar with the matter, reported, "The IPO is being targeted for mid-June, when Jupiter and Venus will appear closest to each other in about three years, a phenomenon known as a 'conjunction'." According to the non-profit organization The Planetary Society, Jupiter and Venus will come very close to each other on June 8-9. A few days later, Mercury will also align diagonally with these two planets.

Another reason being considered for the June IPO is CEO Musk's birthday, which falls on June 28. FT explained, "Such an unusual requirement demonstrates how strong Elon Musk's personal influence has been over major decision-making at SpaceX."

SpaceX plans to raise up to 50 billion dollars through the public offering, with an estimated company valuation of about 1.5 trillion dollars. This would far surpass the 29 billion dollars raised by Saudi Aramco in 2019. However, sources noted that "all figures are provisional and subject to change."

However, the market points out that the June listing schedule is extremely tight. SpaceX must submit an S-1 registration statement to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and also conduct a global roadshow for the IPO.
