On January 27, Jangsu County successfully held the opening ceremony of the 2026 Jangsu County Agricultural Officer School at the main lecture hall of the Agricultural Technology Center, with over 130 trainees in attendance.
The ceremony began with an encouragement speech by Jangsu County Governor Hoonshik Choi, followed by a congratulatory address from Seunghee Kim, a professor at Korea National College of Agriculture and Fisheries. Introductions were given for three courses-'Intermediate Tomato,' 'Advanced Tomato,' and 'Multi-Axis & High-Density Apple'-along with an overview of the annual schedule and an orientation session.

This training program is offered to trainees selected through a month-long recruitment process. The Intermediate Tomato course will run for eight months, while the Advanced Tomato and Multi-Axis & High-Density Apple courses will each run for nine months.
The training will be conducted in a systematic manner, combining theoretical education and hands-on field practice under the guidance of expert instructors, ensuring that trainees can immediately apply what they learn in real farming situations.
Notably, this year, an Intermediate Tomato class was newly established in response to demand for foundational courses, creating a step-by-step education system that distinguishes it from the existing advanced course.
The county plans to further enhance the competitiveness of local agriculture by providing customized training tailored to the skill levels and experience of local farmers through this program.
Governor Hoonshik Choi stated, "This year, the Agricultural Officer School has been organized as a customized curriculum so that trainees can systematically acquire specialized skills and practical application abilities for each crop. I hope this will be an opportunity for local farmers to participate enthusiastically and learn a great deal."
He added, "Going forward, we will continue to support a variety of training programs to establish a stable production base for regionally specialized crops and to nurture professional agricultural managers."
