Cellumed, a company specializing in bio-medical devices, announced on January 27 that its construction subsidiary, HwanKyung ENG, has continued its growth by securing new contracts from first-tier construction companies for two consecutive years, despite the downturn in the construction market.
Over the past year, HwanKyung ENG has secured a series of core equipment construction contracts for major domestic construction projects, primarily from leading large-scale construction companies in Korea. This achievement, realized amid a challenging business environment due to high interest rates and rising raw material costs, is attributed to HwanKyung ENG’s strengths in precision construction capabilities and systematic safety management, which have been recognized as competitive advantages on-site.
HwanKyung ENG has consistently demonstrated its construction quality through its designation as an excellent partner by major construction companies and has maintained a record of zero accidents during the execution of numerous large-scale projects. Notably, since the enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, safety capabilities have become a key evaluation criterion in the selection of partners. As such, HwanKyung ENG’s safety management system and on-site operational expertise have played a decisive role in earning the trust of project owners.
A Cellumed representative stated, “The success in securing large-scale projects is directly contributing to increased sales and profitability, making HwanKyung ENG a decisive driver of performance improvement.”
For 2026, HwanKyung ENG has set its management policy as ‘Zero Serious Accidents’ and ‘Field-Oriented Risk Management,’ aiming to enhance schedule compliance and quality advancement based on safety. The company plans to identify and analyze potential risks at each site before construction begins to improve the completeness of construction plans, and to proactively establish safety-focused construction plans through detailed simulations. During construction, HwanKyung ENG will operate a safety management system that continuously monitors on-site conditions, and will further strengthen adherence to safety rules and crisis response capabilities through regular safety training, fostering a culture of safety throughout the organization.
A HwanKyung ENG representative commented, “Safety at construction sites is a non-negotiable absolute value and a source of competitiveness. In 2026, we will further strengthen pre-planning and field-focused risk management to maintain accident-free sites and reward customer trust with high-quality construction.”
