YouTuber Gujeyeok Sentenced to 2 Years in Prison for Defamation Against Internet Broadcast BJs and Others YouTuber Gujeyeok (real name Lee Junhee), who is accused of receiving money from YouTuber Jjuyang's side by exploiting Jjuyang's weakness, is entering the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office building on July 15, 2024.

From 2022 to 2024, Lee is accused of spreading false information and defaming or insulting multiple individuals-including former Navy Captain Lee Geun, well-known broadcasters, and internet broadcast BJs-on his YouTube channel.

The court stated, "The defendant distorted the facts and broadcasted sensitive matters such as others' sex lives or criminal records without proper investigation," adding, "He also revealed the personal information of ordinary individuals without hesitation, destroying the daily lives of the victims." The court further criticized, "Despite the malicious nature of the crimes, the defendant denied the charges and showed no remorse, even making the incomprehensible claim that these were 'YouTube entertainment techniques.'"

Regarding the sentencing, the court explained, "He acted as if there were no laws on YouTube, so a severe punishment is necessary," and added, "Although he submitted several letters of reflection, they were filled with self-pity and excuses rather than empathy for the victims' suffering."

However, the court acquitted Lee of some charges related to certain victims and dismissed the prosecution for cases where the victims did not wish to pursue punishment.

Separately, Lee is also on trial at the Supreme Court after being sentenced to three years in prison on appeal last September for charges including extorting 55 million won from Tzuyang through threats.
