67 Billion KRW Invested
Enhancing Daily Convenience for Residents
Jindo County in South Jeolla Province is accelerating the implementation of resident-priority projects worth a total of 6.7 billion KRW to improve living conditions and strengthen settlement infrastructure, thereby advancing practical, resident-focused administration.
According to the county, a survey on the demand for resident-priority projects was conducted through each town and township office starting in August last year. Since November, the Construction Division has led on-site inspections and detailed design work simultaneously, shortening the project preparation period. The county has focused its administrative resources on issuing all project tenders early, aiming to complete this process by February this year.
This round of resident-priority projects will focus on initiatives closely related to residents’ daily lives, such as village road maintenance, the construction and paving of farm roads, and the improvement of drainage channels and streams. A total of 244 projects, amounting to 6.7 billion KRW, will be carried out.
From the design stage, the county visited every project site to collect opinions from village heads and residents, and incorporated on-site conditions into the designs. Through this approach, the county expects to enhance construction quality while also achieving budget savings.
Of the 244 projects, 149 have already been tendered. The county plans to issue tenders for the remaining 95 projects by February, with the goal of completing all construction before the busy farming season. This is intended to minimize inconvenience for residents and ensure that agricultural activities are not disrupted.
Kim Heesu, Governor of Jindo County, stated, "By implementing resident-priority projects early, we will deliver administration that residents can truly feel." He added, "We will complete construction before the farming season to reduce inconvenience for farmers and make tangible improvements to residents’ lives by enhancing settlement conditions."
Meanwhile, the county plans to continue identifying and managing resident-priority projects in order to improve residents’ quality of life and upgrade local infrastructure.
