Mokpo City in South Jeolla Province, led by Acting Mayor Cho Seokhoon, held its fourth regional issue work review meeting and reviewed 15 major projects that are either underway or planned in the industrial complex areas.

According to the city on January 23, this meeting was organized to comprehensively review the progress of projects across the entire industrial complex area, focusing on the Sanjeong, Sapjin, and Daeyang industrial complexes. The review covered not only industrial complex infrastructure and industrial support facilities, but also the fisheries industry and resource circulation sectors.

The meeting focused on key projects aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of the industrial complexes. Major agenda items included the operation of the industrial complex multi-purpose cultural center, the construction of the Mokpo Knowledge Industry Center, road paving works at the Sanjeong Agro-Industrial Complex, and the creation of a new Smart Green industrial complex.

In addition, the progress of the fisheries food export complex, which is scheduled for completion this year, was reviewed. Discussions were also held on introducing an international dried seaweed exchange and designating a seaweed industry promotion zone, as well as attracting the National Seaweed Industry Promotion Institute, in order to foster the seaweed industry as a national strategic industry.

At the same time, key projects in the environmental and resource circulation sectors, such as the construction of resource recovery facilities and integrated biogas facilities, were also reviewed.

Through this meeting, the city comprehensively reviewed the progress of major projects in the industrial complex areas and specified the key issues, future plans, and response strategies for each project.

Acting Mayor Cho Seokhoon stated, "The industrial complex area is a core space supporting Mokpo's industrial competitiveness. We will ensure systematic management so that the industrial complexes can function stably by steadily advancing various projects across infrastructure, industry, fisheries, and environmental sectors."

Meanwhile, this meeting was the fourth in a series of 'regional issue work review meetings' being held by dividing the city into regions. The city plans to continue these regional review meetings in sequence to identify problems early in the project implementation process and to enhance both the speed and quality of administration by strengthening interdepartmental cooperation.
