Nominations Open for the 2026 Uiryeong County Citizen Award
From January 26 to February 20
Uiryeong County in South Gyeongsang Province announced that it will be accepting nominations for the 2026 Uiryeong County Citizen Award from January 26 to February 20, 2026.
The Uiryeong County Citizen Award is an honor established to recognize individuals or organizations who serve as exemplary role models in various fields, thereby enhancing the county’s reputation and fostering a positive and healthy social atmosphere.
The award will be presented in four categories: Filial Piety Award, Industrial Economy Award, Social Service Award, and Culture, Arts, or Sports Award. One recipient (or one business entity) will be selected for each category.
All nominated candidates will undergo a fair review by the Citizen Award Selection Committee, after which the final recipients will be chosen. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place at the opening ceremony of the 51st Honguijanggun Festival on April 16.
Meanwhile, the Uiryeong County Citizen Award, which began in 1993, marks its 19th edition this year. To date, a total of 46 recipients have been honored, establishing the award as the highest honor that instills pride and love for the county among its residents.
