Dongseo University (President Jang Jeguk) and the Busan Venture Business Association (Senior Vice President Kwak Youngho) have joined forces to promote the development of regional strategic industries and the successful implementation of RISE.
Dongseo University announced on January 23 that it recently signed an MOU in the Global Room on the 11th floor of the New Millennium Hall to facilitate the development of strategic industries in the Busan region and ensure the successful implementation of the Regional Innovation-led University Support System (RISE) project.
The signing ceremony was attended by key figures from Dongseo University's RISE project team, including Director Hwang Kihyun, Deputy Director Kim Jeongsuk, Head of Industry-Academic Cooperation Park Youngjun, Director Yun Myungsoo, and Professor Jin Hyungwoo. From the Busan Venture Business Association, Senior Vice President Kwak Youngho (CEO of ITWIN), Choi Jaeyoung (CEO of Bitgaram System), Lee Jeongwoo (CEO of UpRoot), Secretary General Park Taeok, Education Support Center Director Park Hyunsoo, and Manager Kim Haehwan, along with other major stakeholders from both organizations, were present.
Through this agreement, both organizations have committed to: ▲ providing customized training programs for employees and fostering professional talent based on industry demand; ▲ jointly promoting cooperative projects for mutual development and revitalization of the regional economy; and ▲ actively collaborating to establish a governance system connecting local industry, academia, and research, as well as conducting joint research and development (R&D) projects.
With this agreement as a starting point, the two organizations plan to accelerate the creation of a virtuous cycle ecosystem that links local industry, academia, and research, in which the university nurtures practical talent needed by regional venture businesses and transfers university-owned technologies to companies for commercialization.
Kwak Youngho, Senior Vice President of the Busan Venture Business Association, stated, "In a rapidly changing industrial environment, strengthening the competitiveness of local venture businesses depends on securing outstanding talent and technological innovation. I hope that Dongseo University's excellent infrastructure and the vision of the RISE project will combine with the innovation needs of companies to inject new vitality into the regional economy."
Hwang Kihyun, Director of the Dongseo University RISE Project Team, said, "This is more than a simple exchange; it marks the starting point for the university and the association to become one team to improve the fundamentals of local venture businesses. We will work closely with the association to produce tangible results that companies can truly feel and to nurture talent who will stay and contribute to the region."
