Supporting Technology Collaboration and Global Expansion for Domestic SMEs and Startups
The Small and Medium Business Technology Information Promotion Agency announced on January 23 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology (CSEM) for global research and development (R&D) collaboration.
CSEM is a research institute in the field of advanced manufacturing and microtechnology, established by the Swiss government in 1984. It actively promotes the development and commercialization of industrial application technologies in manufacturing, artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies, semiconductors, energy, life sciences, and healthcare.

This agreement was pursued to support global open innovation and resolve technological challenges faced by domestic small and medium venture companies through the 'Global Cooperation R&D Project' implemented by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups since 2025.
With this agreement, the agency plans to promote international joint R&D, technology and workforce exchanges, seminars, and technology matching consultations between domestic small and medium venture companies and CSEM.
Kim Youngshin, President of the agency, stated, "Through this agreement, we will actively support the transfer of CSEM's technological capabilities to our small and medium venture companies and facilitate active technology commercialization."
