Kakao CA Council Streamlines Structure, Shifts from Committees to 'Three Offices and Four Departments'

The Kakao CA Council is undergoing a complete organizational restructuring. According to Kakao on January 23, the CA Council will move away from its existing structure of "four committees, two general divisions, and one unit," and will be reorganized into a streamlined structure centered on "three offices and four departments." While reducing the overall size of the organization, the focus is on enhancing flexibility and enabling faster connection between group-level decision-making and execution. This reflects the company's intention to translate the capabilities it has accumulated through the advancement of its management system and governance efficiency into growth.

The newly established organizations are the Group Investment Strategy Office, Group Financial Strategy Office, and Group HR Strategy Office. These offices will be dedicated to supporting areas that require group-level decision-making, such as mid- to long-term investment and financial strategy planning, as well as the advancement of HR systems. The Group Investment Strategy Office will be concurrently led by Kim Doyoung, CEO of Kakao Investment, while the Group Financial Strategy Office will be concurrently led by Shin Jonghwan, CFO of Kakao. The Group HR Strategy Office will be headed by Hwang Taeseon.

Functions such as ESG, PR, PA, and compliance management, which involve setting and coordinating group-level directions, will be handled by four department organizations. Kwon Daeyeol will be in charge of Group ESG, Lee Nari will be in charge of Group PR, Lee Yeonjae will be in charge of Group PA, and Jung Jongwook will be in charge of Group Compliance Management. These related organizations will be transferred to Kakao's headquarters to strengthen on-site execution capabilities. The new CA Council organizational structure will take effect starting February 1.
