Daewoo E&C Steps Up Bidding Competition for Construction Contract

Kim Bohyun, President of Daewoo E&C, visited the redevelopment site of Seongsu Strategic Maintenance District 4 in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on the 22nd. With the deadline for the construction company selection bid approaching on February 9, the CEO personally inspected the site, signaling the company's active participation in the bidding competition. This visit is interpreted as his intention to personally oversee the final terms to be proposed before submitting the bid proposal.

On this day, President Kim met with executives and employees preparing for the bid and stated, "Seongsu District 4 is a symbolic project site that will redefine the future residential landscape of Seoul." He added, "Please mobilize all of Daewoo E&C's accumulated expertise and technological capabilities in high-end residential projects to prepare the optimal proposal that will satisfy both the association and the local community." Seongsu District 4 is evaluated as a prime project site within the Seongsu Strategic Maintenance District, with approximately 520 meters of contact along the Han River. The site offers views of the Han River and is also close to Seoul Forest. President Kim stated, "In the future, this complex will establish itself as a representative development not only in the surrounding maintenance districts but also along the Han River," adding, "We will become the association's partner and set a new standard for Seongsu."

For this project, Daewoo E&C has presented the vision of 'Only One Seongsu' and has partnered with renowned international design firms. The architectural design will be handled by Meyer Architects, a U.S.-based firm founded by Pritzker Prize laureate Richard Meier, often referred to as the Nobel Prize of architecture. The structural engineering will be managed by Arup from the United Kingdom, and landscape design will be undertaken by Grant Associates, also from the UK. The plan is to highlight Seongsu's unique identity through a design that harmonizes the Han River, Seoul Forest, and the city skyline.

Daewoo E&C aims to differentiate itself not only in design competitiveness but also in business terms. It is reported that the company is finalizing financial and business conditions, such as minimizing the association members' contributions, in accordance with the association's bidding guidelines.
