The Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (hereinafter referred to as Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae) announced on January 22 that the Gold Class Cultural Foundation had donated 30 million won to support local culture and arts.
The donation ceremony was held on the third floor auditorium of the Gold Class headquarters on the same day, attended by Lim Sungja, Chairperson of the Gold Class Cultural Foundation, Park Cheolhong, Chairman of Gold Class, representatives of civic groups in the culture and arts sector, and Park Heungcheol, Secretary General of Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae.
This donation will be delivered to civic groups in the culture and arts sector and used to improve the welfare of underprivileged groups who are marginalized from cultural opportunities in the region.
Lim Sungja, Chairperson of the Gold Class Cultural Foundation, stated, "We will continue our unwavering interest and support this year to help local culture and arts flourish even more," adding, "I hope that the active work of culture and arts organizations for the underprivileged will bring about positive change in the local community."
Park Cheolhong, Chairman of Gold Class, said, "Local culture is an important force that sustains the community," and added, "I hope this donation for culture and arts, which lead the development of local culture even in difficult circumstances, will help activate cultural welfare for those in the blind spots."
