Choi Kyojin: "We Will Do Our Best to Create an Environment Where the Educational Community Can Grow in a Healthy Way"
Minister of Education Choi Kyojin stated, "I believe that the policy satisfaction of Daejeon Office of Education staff, who receive the attentive support of the Edu-Healing Center, will be high," adding, "We will continue to do our utmost to create an environment where the educational community can grow in a healthy way, so that all staff can focus on their educational activities with peace of mind."
Minister Choi made these remarks while attending the "2026 On-Site Discussion Meeting for Strengthening the Protection of Teachers' Educational Activities," held by the Daejeon Office of Education at the Edu-Healing Center on January 22.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Education, the President of the Council of Provincial Superintendents of Education, Daejeon Superintendent Seol Dongho, as well as officials from the Ministry of Education and the Educational Activity Protection Centers of city and provincial offices of education. They gathered to discuss ways to strengthen the protection of educational activities.
Minister of Education Choi Kyojin toured the newly renovated Edu-Healing Center facilities and reviewed Daejeon's educational activity protection support projects, such as those conducted in individual counseling rooms.
At the subsequent meeting, principals, vice principals, elementary and secondary school teachers, parents, and lawyers were invited to share on-the-ground perspectives and discuss practical measures to realize a culture of mutual respect within the educational community and to protect educational activities.
In 2026, the Edu-Healing Center plans to further strengthen the protection of educational activities by enhancing one-stop support in counseling, legal, and institutional areas under the slogan "Rest for the Mind, Strength for Education!" This will include customized individual and group counseling by Edu-Counselors, legal consultations with school lawyers, and institutional support through the Teacher Protection Mutual Aid Program, in line with the Ministry of Education's policy to strengthen the protection of educational activities.
A parent who attended the meeting said, "I agree that protecting teachers' educational activities ultimately provides the foundation for our children's proper growth," adding, "I hope a culture of mutual respect and courtesy among teachers, students, and parents will take root."
