Gyeongju City Expands Munhwa Nuri Card Support to 150,000 Won

Expanded Benefits: Increased Support, Additional Aid, and Automatic Recharge

On January 22, Gyeongju City announced that it will expand the annual support for the Munhwa Nuri Card from 140,000 won per person to 150,000 won in 2026, in order to broaden cultural opportunities for the culturally underserved.

The Munhwa Nuri Card is a program that supports cultural arts, travel, and sports activities for recipients of basic livelihood security and low-income groups. It is operated with the aim of improving the quality of life for vulnerable populations and bridging cultural gaps.

The 2026 Munhwa Nuri Card will be issued from February 2 to November 30, and can be used until December 31 from the date of issuance.

Eligible recipients are those born on or before December 31, 2020, who are either basic livelihood security recipients or belong to low-income groups.

This year, along with the increase in support funds, customized support for each group will also be strengthened.

Youth (ages 13 to 18) and pre-seniors (ages 60 to 64) will receive an additional 10,000 won. In addition, those who used more than 30,000 won on their Munhwa Nuri Card last year and continue to qualify for the program in 2026 will have their cards automatically recharged without the need for a separate application.

New applicants or those not eligible for automatic recharge can visit their local administrative welfare center to apply for and receive the Munhwa Nuri Card.

The Munhwa Nuri Card can be used at cultural arts, tourism, and sports merchants nationwide, and in Gyeongju City, it is accepted at a total of 282 affiliated merchants.

A Gyeongju City official stated, "We hope that expanding support for the Munhwa Nuri Card will allow citizens from vulnerable groups to enjoy a wider range of cultural and leisure activities in their daily lives," and added, "We will continue to promote policies that enhance the sense of cultural welfare."
