Using a Wedding Venue for Just 10,000 Won per Hour?

Gumi 'Small Wedding Counseling Center' Opens on January 24
Located in Gumi Young Square at Gumi Station
A Hub for Wedding Preparation Combining Counseling, Space, and Education
From Small Ceremonies to Photo Shoots and Consulting, All in One Place

In Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province, a new space is opening where couples can ease the burden of wedding preparations for just 10,000 won per hour. The city will officially launch the 'Small Wedding Counseling Center' on January 24, aiming to reduce wedding costs for young people and engaged couples and to promote a more reasonable wedding culture.

The Small Wedding Counseling Center is located within Gumi Young Square, occupying the first and second floors of the commercial building at Gumi Station. This project was selected as part of the 2025 North Gyeongsang Province customized competition for low birthrate response initiatives. It was designed as a hub that combines space, counseling, education, and networking to address the practical concerns of young people who hesitate to get married due to excessive costs and a ceremony culture focused on formality.

The counseling center has been set up in the wedding-themed lounge on the first floor. It offers customized wedding consulting for engaged couples, with access to the event hall (main hall), studio (bride’s waiting room and mini party area), and powder room. Since small-scale ceremonies, photo shoots, and all preparation processes can be conducted in one place, it reduces both logistical complexity and costs. The usage fee is set at 10,000 won per hour for each facility.

Programs are also available for unmarried young people who are not preparing for marriage. By offering wedding-related education and youth gatherings, the center plans to provide practical information and expand opportunities for natural interaction and networking.

The center is open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Counseling services are available by prior reservation or walk-in, while facility rentals can be booked through the integrated reservation system on the Gumi City Hall website up to three days before the desired date of use.

On the opening day, January 24, around 50 pre-registered participants will be invited to a commemorative event featuring a celebratory performance, wedding consulting, and a networking party. On January 31, a wedding image consulting program will be held, offering personal color analysis, dress selection tailored to the venue and season, and makeup coaching.

Gumi Mayor Kim Jangho stated, "We focused on reducing the burden of cost and formality," adding, "I hope the Small Wedding Counseling Center will become a platform that spreads a healthy wedding culture and supports the lives of young people."
