Korea Manhwa Museum Certified as 'Excellent Public Museum' for Fourth Consecutive Time

The Korea Manhwa Museum announced on January 22 that it has been selected as an excellent institution for the fourth consecutive time in the 'Public Museum Evaluation and Certification' program organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The Public Museum Evaluation and Certification is a system that rigorously verifies the professionalism and public value of museum operations in accordance with the 'Museum and Art Gallery Promotion Act.' The evaluation panel gave high marks for the museum's systematic collection and preservation of extensive comic book materials, as well as for effectively linking these resources to high-quality exhibitions and educational programs. In particular, the museum was recognized for faithfully fulfilling its archival function of documenting the history of Korean comics, playing a pivotal role in establishing Bucheon as a 'city of comics.'

The Korea Manhwa Contents Agency, which operates the museum, signaled forward-looking changes based on this achievement. Director Paek Jonghun stated, "This certification is the result of faithfully fulfilling our responsibilities as a public cultural institution," adding, "We will leap forward as a unique global brand through innovation in spaces and functions by integrating cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI)."
