Korea Industrial Complex Corporation is set to actively promote an industrial complex innovation strategy centered on manufacturing artificial intelligence (AI) transformation, youth-friendly initiatives, and regional growth.


On January 22, Korea Industrial Complex Corporation announced that it held the '2026 Business Report Meeting' at its headquarters in Daegu the previous day, where it reviewed implementation plans for the core tasks discussed in the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's business report. Marking the occasion, the corporation stated its goal to generate tangible results in national policy tasks and to redefine its organizational functions as a specialized agency for industrial complexes.

The five key focus areas are: ▲ Industrial innovation through AI ▲ Energy innovation, including the expansion of renewable energy and the establishment of carbon-neutral industrial complexes ▲ Spatial innovation for industrial complexes that are culturally integrated, safe, and youth-friendly ▲ Regional innovation by creating new sites and encouraging active corporate investment ▲ Organizational innovation focused on financial soundness and strengthening organizational capabilities.


In the field of industrial innovation, the corporation plans to expand AX (AI transformation) infrastructure in manufacturing through demonstration projects and to actively build an ecosystem that facilitates AI collaboration within industrial complexes. For energy innovation, the corporation will support the creation of RE100 industrial complexes, establish representative models for carbon-neutral complexes, and expand the adoption of renewable energy within industrial complexes.


Additionally, to achieve spatial innovation in industrial complexes, the corporation will further strengthen safety management systems and work to create youth-friendly complexes by expanding cultural content and infrastructure. It will also enhance support tailored to each stage of corporate growth and pursue regional innovation tasks such as developing future-oriented industrial complexes and promoting regional investment to foster local industries.


At the same time, by improving work efficiency, enhancing financial soundness, and strengthening organizational capabilities, Korea Industrial Complex Corporation aims to establish a sustainable operational foundation. The corporation will also focus on organizational innovation by advancing all core operations, including tenant management.


Meanwhile, at the business report meeting, a 'KICOX Three Core Tasks Implementation Declaration Ceremony' was also held, covering safe industrial complexes, building a trusted organization, and eliminating fake work.
