Promoting County Development and Addressing Residents' Concerns
Visiting All 11 Towns and Townships for Open Communication
Sancheong County in South Gyeongsang Province will conduct the "8th Popularly Elected County Governor Lee Seunghwa’s Town and Township Tour" from January 22 to January 29, 2026.
This tour has been organized to strengthen communication with residents and gather a wide range of opinions for the development of county administration.
Additionally, to realize the vision of "A New Change, A Happier Sancheong for All," the county will listen directly to residents’ voices on site and reflect them in its policies.
In particular, this year, the tour has been extended from the previous four days to six days to hear residents’ opinions in greater detail, differentiating it from past tours and allowing for more voices to be heard.
The tour will be held in the following order: Sancheong-eup and Geumseo-myeon on January 22; Samjang-myeon and Sicheon-myeon on January 23; Danseong-myeon and Sinan-myeon on January 26; Saengbiryang-myeon and Sindeung-myeon on January 27; Saengcho-myeon and Obu-myeon on January 28; and Chahwang-myeon on January 29.
The town and township tour will include a report on last year’s achievements and an overview of the 8th popularly elected administration’s overall accomplishments, as well as explanations of this year’s major projects and policies, and a Q&A session with residents.
The county administration’s direction for 2026 includes: ▲ strengthening rapid disaster recovery and disaster prevention infrastructure ▲ revitalizing the local economy and fostering future growth industries ▲ increasing farm income and realizing sustainable future agriculture ▲ advancing as a wellness, cultural, and sports city ▲ delivering tangible welfare benefits in daily life ▲ creating a safe and pleasant residential environment ▲ implementing tailored population policies to address regional depopulation.
Alongside these efforts, the county is fully committed to creating a hopeful city of recovery and progress, a global wellness city of healing, a future-oriented agricultural city with competitive agriculture, and a city that is both livable and desirable.
Governor Lee Seunghwa stated, "I will continue to seek opportunities to listen closely to residents’ valuable opinions and pursue participatory administration," adding, "We will thoroughly review the diverse opinions of our residents and actively reflect them in county administration to ensure they lead to practical benefits."
