Achievement in Hands-On Education Linked to the Engineering Technology Education Innovation Center
Kyungnam College of Information & Technology announced that a team of students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering recently won first place at the "1st LEGO Robot Challenge Curling Competition" held at Dongyang Mirae University.
This competition is a program designed to strengthen engineering thinking and problem-solving skills, with students from engineering technology education innovation centers at universities nationwide participating to showcase their abilities.
The team, consisting of first-year students Jang Taeyeol, Song Geuntak, Park Chanho, and Lee Junghyun from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, designed and built a LEGO-based robot themselves and implemented an algorithm using sensor data to complete the robot curling challenge. Their robot structure and stable driving system, tailored to the competition task, were highly praised for demonstrating strong design capabilities and teamwork.
An Taewon, Director of the Engineering Technology Education Innovation Center at Kyungnam College of Information & Technology, emphasized, "This is the result of connecting what students learned in class to real-world problem solving," adding, "We will continue to expand field-oriented engineering education."
